The Food safety training and certification is mostly targeted to be a large-scale training programme, designed for all the food business operators. It has been a major part for all the State and Central licensed food business operators by FSSAI.

Number of courses placed under Food safety training and certification:
There are overall 19 courses placed under the Food safety training and certification program. These courses are primarily divided under three levels:
- Basic course
- Advance course
- Special course

Get on with the Food safety training and certification basic program:
This is one of the most common and first points to address, if you are planning to get hold of the Food safety training and certification. There are both online and offline modes available, each of 4 hours.
- This course is available for street food vending, catering and manufacturing sectors.
- Even those related to storage and transportation, and retail and distribution sections can take active part in the basic program.
Advance Course:
The online mode of advance program is for 7 hours and offline is for 8 hours. This course will cater mostly towards retail and distribution, storage and transport, manufacturing and catering.
- The main goal of this large-scale training program is to aim to spread education and to raise awareness on food safety and standard act. It will also talk about the rules and regulations that food business operators need to follow.
- All the food businesses, which are operating in India with FSSAI licenses both in state and central, need to have a minimum of one trained and certified supervisor for every 25 food-handlers.
- The advanced course will be an insightful one for all the food processing experts based in academics or industry to maximise their present awareness and knowledge of general hygiene and sanitary practices, as mandated by FSSAI and mentioned in Food Safety and Standards.
- Here, the students will learn about food safety and its standard act of 2006.
- Moreover, they will learn about the potential hazards moving around the food sector and ways to control them.
- Other than that, the advanced course will talk about Schedule IV requirements, HACCP study, FSMS Plan development and Schedule IV compliance.
The online mode is for 7 hours and it starts at 10am and continues till 5 in the evening. English is the main mode of learning. Students in their final year of degree or diploma courses can take part in it.

The Food safety training and certification special program is for those associated with milk and milk products, animal meat, poultry meat, fish and seafood, packaged water and water-centric beverages and more.
